Join a Group
Once you have joined a group, you will automatically be invited to all currently schedule and future group events.
I have a Join-Link
Join links are usually sent via third-part platforms like email, chat, or text. Just click the link and you will be taken directly to the group's preview page where you can read about the group before deciding to join. If the group is open, you just tap the button and you're in. If the group is closed or private, then you'll need to submit a join request and wait for a group organizer to approve it. For demonstration purposes you can join our open Tutorial Group using the link below.
I have a QR Code or Share-Card
QR Codes or Share-Cards are usually posted on signs in common areas that you visit or handed out at in-person gatherings. The app also has a built-in QR code generator that allows a friend to snap a photo from their phone to join your group.
Scanning QR codes is different based on your platform and works most easily on mobile devices. For most modern Android and iOS devices, you can just open the camera app and point it at the QR code. You should receive a prompt to open the link.
tip
Pro tip! The link embedded within the QR code is the same as the Join-Link in the previous section. Nothing fancy here, just a little easier to scan the code than it is to type in the long link by hand.
I only have the Group Name
You can search for a group by name using the Group Discovery feature. This only works for group that are public or closed. Private groups are never listed on the Group Discovery page and can only be shared via Join-Links and QR codes.
info
Make sure that you are joining the right group! There is nothing in our system that enforces group names to be unique or otherwise prevents multiple groups from having the same name. Make sure you read the description before requesting access!
Sit Back and Relax
Now that you have joined your group (or submitted your join request to do so), you can sit back and wait for the event invitations to start rolling in! If you want to start a group of your own, continue on with this tutorial. Otherwise, feel free to bail at any time.
