Schedule an Event

Now that you have a group set up, it's time to schedule your first event. Return to the app home page and click the calendar icon in the bottom right corner. Fill out the event information, set the event's date and start time. Note that you can only schedule events two weeks out. In the future, we may support longer event horizons.

You'll need to set the minimum number of participants required for the event to be set to the "Go" status. Once you reach this threshold everyone that has either not yet declined the event will be notified.

Setting a value for the maximum number of participants is required, but can be set to any large number.

To create a group event for one of the groups you manage (the one you just made), click the "Assign to Group" button and choose the appropriate group. If you want this to be a personal event then leave the assigned group field blank.

tip

The event type cannot be changed one the event is scheduled, so make sure that you pick the desired option here!

Double check your event's details and then hit save.

Invite People to Your Event

If you assigned the event to a group when you scheduled it, everyone in the group (and anyone that joins the group before the event date) will automatically be invited to your event. You can manually invite additional users using the dropdown menu in the upper right corner. When inviting users, you will be presented with a list of all other users with whom you have a connection (either a common group or you've manually added them in the app as a contact).

Monitor RSVPs

As the event organizer, you will receive a notification for each person that RSVPs to your event. Once you hit enough participants to trigger the minimum threshold, your event will automatically move from the "no-go" to the "go" state, and all attendees will be notified.

Send a Chat Message

You can keep in touch with event participants using the built-in chat features. Currently the chats are text only (no images, videos, etc). Chat can be a great way to coordinate additional details for the event like change in location or who's bringing specific items.
